These little Christmas tree pizzas are as fun to make as they are to eat. Store-bought pizza dough is rolled out and cut into trees with a large cookie cutter, then the kids add sauce, cheese and their own ornaments: pepperoni, olives, bell pepper and a little star on top. They bake in about 10 minutes, or cook in the air fryer even faster, and they make a cheerful supper or holiday party snack.

Why You’ll Love It

  • Kids can make their own. Everyone decorates a tree.
  • Ready in about 25 minutes.
  • Oven or air fryer. Both work.

What You Need

  • 1 lb pizza dough (store-bought or homemade, at room temperature)
  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup mini pepperoni
  • 1/4 cup diced green bell pepper
  • 2 tbsp sliced black olives
  • 1 small yellow bell pepper (for star shapes)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • flour (for rolling)

Decorating the Christmas tree pizzas

How to Make Christmas Tree Pizzas

  1. Heat the oven to 425Β°F and line two baking sheets with parchment.
  2. Roll the dough on a floured counter about 1/4 inch thick.
  3. Cut out trees with a large tree cookie cutter, or cut triangles with a knife. Re-roll the scraps once.
  4. Place the trees on the pans and brush the edges with olive oil.
  5. Spread a thin layer of sauce on each tree and top with mozzarella.
  6. Decorate with pepperoni, green pepper and olives as ornaments. Cut small stars from the yellow pepper and put one at the top of each tree.
  7. Bake for 9 to 12 minutes, until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbling.
  8. Sprinkle with Italian seasoning and serve warm.

Tips

  • Keep the sauce thin so the trees keep their shape.
  • Air fryer: cook 2 or 3 at a time at 375Β°F for 5 to 7 minutes.
  • A small star cookie cutter makes neat stars from cheese slices or peppers.

Serving and Storing

Serve hot with extra sauce for dipping. Leftovers keep 3 days in the fridge; reheat in the air fryer or oven for a crisp crust.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use crescent dough or biscuit dough?

Yes. Bake at the temperature on the package and watch the time, as they cook faster.

Can I make them ahead?

Cut the trees and keep them covered in the fridge for a few hours. Add toppings just before baking.

What other toppings work?

Cherry tomato halves, sausage crumbles or spinach all make good ornaments.
