These melted snowmen make everyone laugh and they could not be easier. A round sugar cookie is flooded with white icing that drips like a puddle, a toasted marshmallow sits on top for the head, and a candy face, pretzel arms and a few chocolate chip buttons finish him off. Fifteen minutes, no oven, and every snowman looks different.

  • Every one looks different, which is the fun.

What You Need

  • 12 round sugar cookies (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar

Building the melted snowmen

How to Make Melted Snowman Cookies

  1. Whisk the powdered sugar and milk into a thick but pourable icing.
  2. Spoon icing onto each cookie and let it run to the edges like a puddle.
  3. Set a marshmallow on each cookie, off to one side, while the icing is wet. For a melted look, warm the marshmallows 5 seconds in the microwave first.
  4. Pipe two dots of black icing for eyes, an orange dot for the nose and a little mouth on each marshmallow.
  5. Push two pretzel sticks into the icing for arms and press mini chocolate chips in for buttons. Let set 30 minutes.

Tips

  • Thick icing holds the puddle shape; add powdered sugar if it runs off.
  • A food-safe black marker draws faces fast on the marshmallows.
  • Let the kids do the faces; crooked is better.

Serving and Storing

Store loosely covered at room temperature for 3 days.
