Ingredients
  

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup butter softened
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease and flour a 9x13-inch baking pan.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • In a large bowl, beat the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  • Mix in the vanilla extract.
  • Add the flour mixture alternately with the milk, mixing just until combined.
  • Spread the batter evenly into the prepared baking pan.
  • Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Let the cake cool before slicing and serving.

Notes

Serve plain, dusted with powdered sugar, or topped with vanilla glaze. For extra richness, brush the warm cake with melted butter.
