Easy Flatbread Recipe

A soft, simple homemade flatbread made with pantry staples and cooked quickly in a skillet. This versatile bread is great for wraps, dipping, pizzas, sandwiches, or serving alongside soups, curries, and grilled meats.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup warm water
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Instructions
 

  • In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • Add the warm water and olive oil.
  • Stir until a rough dough forms.
  • Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for 2–3 minutes, until smooth.
  • Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces and roll each piece into a thin round.
  • Heat a dry skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Cook each flatbread for 1–2 minutes per side, until lightly browned and puffed in spots.
  • Wrap the cooked flatbreads in a clean towel to keep them soft until serving.

Notes

Brush with garlic butter after cooking for extra flavor. Use as wraps, mini pizzas, or a quick side for dips.
