Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb fresh green beans trimmed
  • 8 slices bacon cut in half crosswise to make 16 shorter strips
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter melted
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • Divide the trimmed green beans into 16 small, even bundles.
  • Wrap each bundle with a half slice of bacon, spiraling it around the beans to help hold the bundle together.
  • Place each bundle seam-side down in the prepared baking dish.
  • Drizzle the melted butter evenly over the green bean bundles.
  • Sprinkle the packed brown sugar evenly over the top.
  • Bake for 30–40 minutes, or until the bacon is browned and lightly caramelized and the green beans are tender.
  • For crispier bacon, broil for 1–2 minutes at the end, watching closely to prevent the sugar from burning.
  • Spoon the glaze from the bottom of the dish over the bundles before serving.

Notes

For a deeper savory flavor, add a pinch of garlic powder or black pepper before baking. These are best served warm while the glaze is glossy.
