Slow Cooker Spaghetti Bolognese

A comforting and rich Italian classic made even easier in the slow cooker. This Spaghetti Bolognese is simmered low and slow for deep flavor with minimal effort. Perfect for busy weekdays or lazy weekends, it's hearty, family-friendly, and great for leftovers.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 lb ground beef lean
  • 1 cup onion finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup carrot grated
  • 1 cup celery finely chopped
  • 1 can crushed tomatoes 28 oz
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1/2 tsp salt or to taste
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper or to taste
  • 1 lb spaghetti cooked according to package directions
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese grated, for serving

Instructions
 

  • In a skillet over medium heat, add olive oil and sauté onion, garlic, carrot, and celery for 3–4 minutes until softened.
  • Add ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon. Drain excess fat if needed.
  • Transfer the beef mixture to a slow cooker. Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper.
  • Cover and cook on LOW for 6–7 hours or HIGH for 3–4 hours, stirring once or twice if possible.
  • Serve the sauce over cooked spaghetti and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Enjoy warm.

Notes

You can substitute ground beef with ground turkey or plant-based meat for a lighter version.
