Ingredients

  • 8-10 sheets phyllo dough frozen, raw
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup walnuts or pecans chopped

Instructions

  • Generously butter the inside of the slow cooker, covering the bottom and sides.
  • Layer frozen phyllo sheets directly into the slow cooker, folding and tucking edges as needed to fit.
  • Use a sharp knife to score the layered phyllo into squares or diamond shapes.
  • Whisk melted butter and honey together, then pour evenly over the phyllo, allowing it to seep into the cuts.
  • Sprinkle chopped nuts over the top, pressing some gently into the scored lines.
  • Cover and cook on LOW for 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 hours, until edges are golden and center is set.
  • Turn off heat and let rest covered for at least 20 minutes before serving.
  • Serve by scooping along scored lines, enjoying both crisp edges and soft centers.

Notes

Add a pinch of cinnamon or orange zest for extra flavor. Best served warm for the perfect texture contrast.
