Ingredients
  

  • 1 large head cabbage chopped
  • 8 slices bacon chopped
  • 1 medium onion sliced
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder

Instructions
 

  • Add the chopped cabbage to a lightly greased 4-quart or 6-quart slow cooker.
  • Sprinkle the chopped bacon over the cabbage.
  • Add the sliced onion on top.
  • Pour the chicken broth into the slow cooker.
  • Sprinkle with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.
  • Cover and cook on low for 4–5 hours, or on high for 2–3 hours, until the cabbage is tender and the bacon is cooked through.
  • Stir gently before serving warm.

Notes

For extra smoky flavor, brown the bacon first before adding it to the slow cooker. Add red pepper flakes for a little heat.
