Ingredients

  • 4 bananas ripe, sliced
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar light or dark
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

Instructions

  • Grease your slow cooker with butter or spray with cooking spray to prevent sticking.
  • In a large bowl, combine sliced bananas, brown sugar, melted butter, vanilla extract, and cinnamon. Stir until bananas are well coated.
  • Transfer the mixture to the prepared slow cooker and spread it evenly.
  • Cover and cook on low for 2 to 3 hours, until bananas are soft and the sauce is thick and syrupy.
  • Stir gently to coat the bananas in sauce. Serve warm in bowls with your favorite toppings, or enjoy as is.

Notes

For an extra treat, serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream. A splash of dark rum added to the mix brings it even closer to the classic Bananas Foster flair.
