Ingredients
  

  • 6 cups apples peeled and sliced (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp preferred)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup old-fashioned oats
  • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Instructions
 

  • Lightly grease the insert of your slow cooker with non-stick spray or butter.
  • In a large bowl, toss the sliced apples with granulated sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice until evenly coated. Transfer to the slow cooker.
  • In a separate bowl, mix oats, flour, brown sugar, salt, and melted butter until crumbly.
  • Sprinkle the oat mixture evenly over the apples in the slow cooker.
  • Cover and cook on high for 2.5 to 3 hours or until apples are tender and topping is set.
  • Serve warm, optionally topped with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.

Notes

You can add chopped pecans or walnuts to the topping for extra crunch.
