Slow Cooker Amish Cube Steak with Brown Gravy

Instructions
Lightly grease the inside of a 4-quart or 6-quart slow cooker.
Place the cube steak in the bottom of the slow cooker, overlapping slightly if needed.
Add the sliced onion over the steak.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the beef broth, brown gravy mix, cream of mushroom soup, and black pepper until smooth.
Pour the gravy mixture evenly over the cube steak and onions.
Cover and cook on low for 6–7 hours, or on high for 3–4 hours, until the steak is tender.
Stir the gravy gently before serving.
Serve warm over mashed potatoes, egg noodles, or rice.
Notes
For a thicker gravy, stir in a cornstarch slurry during the last 20 minutes. Mushrooms can be added with the onions for extra flavor.
