Slow Cooker Amish Chicken and Noodles

Ingredients
  

  • 2 lbs boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 cans cream of chicken soup 10.5 oz each
  • 4 cups chicken broth low sodium preferred
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper or to taste
  • 12 oz frozen egg noodles such as Reames brand

Instructions
 

  • Place chicken breasts in the bottom of the slow cooker.
  • Add cream of chicken soup, chicken broth, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper over the chicken.
  • Cover and cook on low for 5-6 hours, or until chicken is tender and fully cooked.
  • Remove the chicken, shred it with two forks, then return it to the slow cooker.
  • Add frozen egg noodles and stir. Cover and cook on high for 1 more hour, or until noodles are tender.
  • Stir gently before serving. Serve hot with fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

For a creamier texture, stir in 1/2 cup of sour cream just before serving.
