Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup steel-cut oats not instant or quick oats
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 cup milk any kind (dairy or non-dairy)
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

Instructions
 

  • Lightly grease the inside of your slow cooker with cooking spray or butter to prevent sticking.
  • Add steel-cut oats, water, milk, and ground cinnamon to the slow cooker. Stir to combine.
  • Cover and cook on low for 7–8 hours overnight, or until oats are tender and creamy.
  • Stir well before serving. Top with your favorite fruits, nuts, or sweeteners if desired.

Notes

To avoid sticking, use a slow cooker liner or cook in a water bath using a heatproof bowl inside the slow cooker.
