Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 packet dry ranch seasoning mix
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup about 10.5 ounces
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons fresh dill chopped; optional for garnish

Instructions

  • Lightly grease the inside of your slow cooker, then lay the chicken breasts across the bottom in as even a layer as possible.
  • In a medium bowl, stir together the cream of chicken soup, sour cream, and dry ranch seasoning mix until the sauce is smooth.
  • Spread the creamy ranch mixture all over the chicken breasts, covering them as best you can.
  • Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 4 to 6 hours, until the chicken is cooked through and very tender. Start checking around the 4-hour mark if your slow cooker tends to run hot.
  • Spoon some of the sauce over each chicken breast before serving, then scatter chopped fresh dill over the top if using. Serve hot with mashed potatoes, egg noodles, rice, or a crisp green vegetable.

Notes

Store leftover chicken and sauce together in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat covered in short microwave bursts or in a skillet over low heat, adding a tiny splash of milk if needed to loosen the thickened sauce.
