Ingredients

  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts or thighs
  • 1 packet country gravy mix dry mix, about 1 oz
  • 1 can condensed cream of chicken soup undiluted
  • 1 cup water plus a splash more if needed

Instructions

  • Lightly spray the inside of the slow cooker with cooking spray.
  • Place the chicken breasts in the bottom of the slow cooker in a single layer if possible.
  • In a bowl, whisk together the country gravy mix, condensed cream of chicken soup, and water until mostly combined.
  • Pour the gravy mixture over the chicken, covering as much of it as possible.
  • Cover and cook on low for 5–6 hours, or on high for 3–4 hours, until the chicken is fully cooked and tender.
  • Shred the chicken or break it into large pieces directly in the slow cooker.
  • Stir the chicken into the gravy so it is well coated.
  • Add a splash more water if the gravy is too thick.
  • Serve warm with plenty of gravy spooned over the top.

Notes

Chicken thighs may be used for a juicier result. Serve over mashed potatoes, biscuits, rice, or egg noodles.
