Ingredients

  • 2 cups uncooked elbow macaroni
  • 1 cup bottled Thousand Island dressing
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a 2-quart baking dish.
  • Spread the dry elbow macaroni evenly in the prepared dish.
  • Pour the Thousand Island dressing over the macaroni.
  • Pour the milk over the top, letting it settle between the noodles.
  • Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over everything.
  • Cover the dish tightly with foil.
  • Bake covered for 30 minutes.
  • Carefully remove the foil and stir the macaroni mixture well.
  • Return the dish to the oven uncovered and bake for 20–25 minutes, until the pasta is tender and the top is golden in spots.
  • Let the casserole rest for 5–10 minutes before serving so the sauce firms into a creamy texture.

Notes

Keep the foil tightly sealed during the covered bake so the pasta cooks through. Stirring after 30 minutes helps the sauce finish evenly.
