Ingredients

  • 16 oz refrigerated chocolate chip or peanut butter cookie dough tub or log
  • 18 Nutter Butter cookies use 16 to 18 as needed to fit the pan
  • 1 box fudge brownie mix 18.3 oz
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2/3 cup vegetable or canola oil
  • 3 tbsp water

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  • Line a 9x13-inch baking pan with parchment paper and lightly spray the parchment with nonstick spray.
  • Press the refrigerated cookie dough evenly into the bottom of the prepared pan.
  • Arrange the Nutter Butter cookies in rows over the cookie dough layer.
  • In a separate bowl, stir together the brownie mix, eggs, oil, and water until mostly smooth.
  • Pour the brownie batter over the Nutter Butter cookies.
  • Spread the batter evenly so it covers the cookies, allowing a few spots to peek through if needed.
  • Bake for about 40–45 minutes, until the edges are set and the center is just slightly soft.
  • Let the bars cool completely in the pan on a wire rack.
  • Use the parchment to lift the bars from the pan, then slice into squares or rectangles.

Notes

The bars firm up as they cool, so avoid slicing while warm for cleaner pieces. For extra peanut butter flavor, use peanut butter cookie dough as the base.
