Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted butter cold and cubed
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 1 cup brown sugar packed
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups pecans chopped

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper.
  • In a bowl, combine 2 cups flour and 1/2 cup granulated sugar. Cut in cold butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  • Press the mixture evenly into the prepared pan to form the crust. Bake for 15 minutes.
  • While crust bakes, whisk eggs, corn syrup, brown sugar, 2 tbsp flour, salt, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  • Stir in chopped pecans.
  • Pour the pecan filling over the hot crust and spread evenly.
  • Return to oven and bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the center is set.
  • Cool completely before slicing into bars.

Notes

For a twist, mix in a handful of chocolate chips with the pecan filling for added richness.
