Hamburger Steak with Onion Gravy
Seasoned beef patties browned and simmered in rich onion gravy. A cheap, classic supper ready in 30 minutes.

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lb ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 onions sliced
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp flour
- 2 cups beef broth
Instructions
- Mix the beef, breadcrumbs, egg, Worcestershire and salt and shape into 4 to 6 patties.
- Brown the patties 4 minutes per side and set aside.
- Cook the onions in butter until soft and golden.
- Stir in the flour, then slowly whisk in the broth.
- Return the patties, cover and simmer 10 minutes.
- Serve with mashed potatoes.
