Graveyard Dirt Cake

A no-bake Halloween dessert of creamy vanilla pudding and crushed Oreo layers, decorated with cookie tombstones and gummy worms.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 package (about 25 oz) Oreo cookies crushed into fine crumbs
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1/4 cup butter softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 boxes (3.4 oz each) instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 3 1/2 cups cold milk
  • 12 oz whipped topping thawed
  • gummy worms, oval cookies and decorating icing for the graveyard

Instructions
 

  • Crush the Oreos, filling and all, into fine crumbs.
  • Beat the cream cheese, butter and powdered sugar until smooth and fluffy.
  • Whisk the pudding mix with the cold milk for about 2 minutes, until it starts to thicken.
  • Beat the pudding into the cream cheese mixture, then gently fold in the whipped topping.
  • In a 9x13 pan, layer a third of the crumbs, half the pudding, another third of the crumbs, the rest of the pudding, and finish with the remaining crumbs.
  • Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.
  • Write RIP on the oval cookies with icing, stand them in the top as tombstones, and add the gummy worms just before serving.

Notes

Make up to 1 day ahead and decorate just before serving. Leftovers keep covered in the fridge for 3 days.
