These Coconut Pecan Pralines are a Southern-inspired candy treat, rich with buttery caramel flavor, nutty pecans, and sweet shredded coconut. Easy to make on the stovetop, they’re perfect for holiday gifting or satisfying your sweet tooth year-round.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat. Set aside.
In a large saucepan over medium heat, combine granulated sugar, brown sugar, evaporated milk, and butter. Stir constantly until the mixture reaches a full rolling boil.
Continue boiling for about 4–5 minutes, or until the mixture reaches the soft-ball stage (235°F / 113°C) on a candy thermometer.
Remove from heat. Stir in vanilla extract, chopped pecans, and shredded coconut until well combined.
Working quickly, drop spoonfuls of the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet. Let pralines cool and set completely, about 30 minutes.
Notes
Store pralines in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week. Toast the pecans beforehand for extra depth of flavor.
