Chicken and Dressing Casserole

Ingredients
  

  • 4 cups cooked chicken shredded or chopped
  • 1 package herbed stuffing mix about 6 oz
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup 10.5 oz can
  • 1 can cream of celery soup 10.5 oz can
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup onion diced
  • 1/2 cup celery chopped
  • 2 tbsp butter melted
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper or to taste

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, sauté onion and celery in melted butter until softened, about 5 minutes.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine stuffing mix, sautéed vegetables, chicken broth, cream of chicken soup, cream of celery soup, milk, and pepper. Stir until well mixed.
  • Spread half of the stuffing mixture into the prepared baking dish. Layer the shredded chicken evenly on top.
  • Top with the remaining stuffing mixture and spread evenly.
  • Bake uncovered for 35 minutes, or until golden and bubbly. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

Use rotisserie chicken for quicker prep. Add chopped boiled eggs for a more traditional dressing flavor.
