Ingredients

  • 3-4 lbs pork baby back ribs membrane removed if desired
  • 1 1/2 cups barbecue sauce
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar packed
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

  • Cut rib racks into smaller sections of 3–4 ribs each for easier fitting and serving.
  • Arrange ribs in the slow cooker, meaty side down as much as possible, overlapping slightly if needed.
  • In a bowl, whisk together barbecue sauce, ketchup, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce until smooth and glossy.
  • Pour sauce over ribs, lifting pieces slightly so sauce coats underneath as well.
  • Cover and cook on LOW for 7–8 hours or HIGH for 3½–4 hours until ribs are very tender.
  • Carefully transfer ribs to a platter using tongs and a spatula.
  • For thicker sauce, simmer some cooking liquid in a saucepan for 5 minutes until slightly reduced, then spoon over ribs before serving.

Notes

Serve with coleslaw, cornbread, or baked beans. For a caramelized finish, broil ribs for 3–5 minutes after slow cooking.
