Ingredients
  

  • 2 lbs frozen steak fries do not thaw
  • 1 packet dry ranch dressing mix 1 ounce
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese divided
  • 1/2 cup bacon bits or crumbled cooked bacon, divided
  • nonstick spray for slow cooker

Instructions
 

  • Lightly coat the inside of a 4–6 quart slow cooker with nonstick spray.
  • Add frozen steak fries to the slow cooker and spread into an even layer.
  • Sprinkle ranch dressing mix evenly over the fries.
  • Top with about 1 1/2 cups cheddar cheese and half of the bacon bits.
  • Cover and cook on HIGH for 3–3 1/2 hours or LOW for 5–6 hours without lifting the lid.
  • Once potatoes are tender, gently stir from the bottom until creamy and cohesive.
  • Sprinkle remaining cheese and bacon over the top. Cover for 5–10 minutes until melted.
  • Let rest 5 minutes before serving warm.

Notes

Add green onions or sour cream for extra flavor. This dish pairs well with grilled meats or barbecue favorites.
