  • 1 packet dry onion soup mix about 1 oz
  • 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1/4 cup apricot preserves

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, stir together the dry onion soup mix, barbecue sauce, and apricot preserves until thick and glossy.
  • Spoon the sauce over the drumsticks and turn them to coat evenly.
  • Bake uncovered for 45–55 minutes, spooning pan sauce over the tops halfway through if desired.
  • Cook until the chicken is deeply golden, the sauce is slightly caramelized, and the thickest part of the chicken reaches 165°F.
  • Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

For a stickier finish, brush with extra barbecue sauce during the last 10 minutes. Serve with rice, mashed potatoes, or roasted vegetables.
