3-Ingredient Slow Cooker Candied Sweets

Tender sweet potatoes are slow cooked with butter and brown sugar until soft, glossy, and caramel-like. This simple holiday-style side dish is warm, cozy, and perfect for family dinners, potlucks, Thanksgiving, or Sunday meals.

Ingredients
  

  • 3 lb sweet potatoes peeled and sliced
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1/2 cup butter sliced

Instructions
 

  • Lightly grease the inside of a 4-quart or 6-quart slow cooker.
  • Add the sliced sweet potatoes to the slow cooker.
  • Sprinkle the brown sugar evenly over the sweet potatoes.
  • Place the sliced butter over the top.
  • Cover and cook on low for 4–5 hours, or on high for 2–3 hours, until the sweet potatoes are tender.
  • Gently stir before serving, coating the sweet potatoes in the buttery brown sugar sauce.
  • Serve warm.

Notes

Add cinnamon or nutmeg for a warmer holiday flavor. Mini marshmallows can be added during the last 15 minutes if desired.
